Gladys Mueni Mutunga

Menzion speciale del Premio 2024

I hold a Master’s degree in Local Development from the University of Padova. I have over 15 years of experience as a postal operator, specializing in postal operations, administration, and the oversight of postal service performance. I have worked on consultancy projects as a research assistant with Wrigley’s International, Equity Group Kenya in association with the Mastercard Foundation, and the Kenya Institute for Public Policy Research and Analysis.

I am eager to examine alternative approaches to tackle contemporary societal problems that affect various social groups, with a particular focus on women. My goal is to enhance scholarly research and writing about women, women’s poverty, feminism, social movements, and social justice. My personal encounters and active engagement with other women in the African context partly drew me to these subjects. I am passionate about exploring the interdependence between nature and humanity, and I also enjoy engaging in recreational activities with children aged 7 and younger. I enjoy watching documentaries that cover themes related to crime and justice, discoveries about the universe, and the diverse cultures and practices of various societies. Currently, I am actively seeking a mid-level role in project management along with academic research on women and development studies.
