Yasmine Aburaya

Yasmine Aburaya is a passionate advocate for gender equality and a dedicated human rights activist, focusing on eliminating violence against women and girls in the MENA region, particularly Egypt. With a master’s degree in international cooperation and protection of human rights from the University of Bologna, she currently holds a dual position as an Advocacy and Legal Volunteer at the European Network of Migrant Women and as the Founder and Executive Director of Your Voice Against VAW Initiative which works on raising awareness, providing support, and mobilizing for better policies and services for women and girls survivors and victims of violence.
Since 2016, Yasmine has been involved with several organizations. Her experience includes being an alumna of the Women2Women Leadership Program, volunteering with the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States, Rotaract Egypt and serving as an SDGs Advocate at UN Egypt. Her journey includes pivotal internships with organisations like Women Against Violence Europe (WAVE).
Currently, Yasmine is a member of the youth feminist group at the Arab States Civil Society and Feminists Network, a fellow with Women of the South Speak Out on the MENA region, and a member of the Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Through these roles, she continues to amplify her voice and collaborate with others to drive change in her community and beyond.
